Mahi Kawasaki End First Free Practice Sessions on a High

The team were greeted by less than perfect track conditions for free practice one this morning. The majority of riders, including Fabien and Kenan, decided to wait for the weather to improve before taking to the track in free practice two.

Free practice two got off to a flying start with Kenan completing 22 laps of the iconic Phillip Island circuit before encountering a technical problem down the straight in the latter stages of the session. He still managed to post a 1:33.618 lap which was enough to keep him at the top of the time sheets, almost a second ahead of DMC Panavlo- Yamaha’s Coghlan and the rest of the World Supersport pack. Kenan and his team are both positively looking ahead to qualifying which takes place tomorrow at 15:55 local time with their sights set on pole position.

Fabien posted a 1:32.734 lap which was two tenths of a second quicker than Kawasaki Racing Team’s David Salom. This makes him second fastest in the World Superbike EVO Championship, and 13th in the World Superbike Championship. Fabien and his team are confident going into qualifying and excited for the first race on Sunday. Superbike qualifying begins at 15:00 local time on Saturday.
