Mike Clampitt – Interior console trim with Burr Walnut Finish

To The Wicked Coatings team,

Many thanks for my finished parts – I am delighted with them.

The service was exceptional and the quality of the finish absolutely flawless.

I got a bit of a shock when I first looked at the items, largely because you had done exactly what I had asked you to do and made them as ‘bright’ as possible (by underspraying with gold paint, I think). Once I had realised that I should not look at the finish with a light source directly behind me, I found that the finish was a lot more realistic.

I think it will look smashing when re-assembled, but I am ‘stealing time’ at the moment to rebuild the interior, so it may take a few weeks to finish.

I shall write again when rebuilt

MikeC

As with most things in life, the franchise industry can be divided into the good, the bad and the downright ugly!

Many potential franchisees need guidance – and they need to have trust in a recognised, standards driven organisation that can confidently direct them towards the ethical brands operating in the franchising sector.

We want anyone who is considering the considerable merits of a Wicked Coatings franchise to have utter peace of mind when it comes to our proposition. This is why we have followed the correct guidelines and procedures from the very beginning of our franchise journey.

As recognition of this commitment, we have now received accreditation from the British Franchise Association which will offer  complete reassurance to all potential franchisees. Established in 1977, The British Franchise Association tests franchisors against a number of strict criteria to ensure they are suitable to achieve accredited status.

Having been shortlisted as one of the most successful businesses in Britain following a 2015 SCOOT headline nomination, we are extremely confident in the quality of our franchise offering. With accreditation from the British Franchise Association now under our belt, franchisees can be have equal confidence in our approved status as an ethical franchisor.

Please give us a call on 01202 622258 if you would like to know more about a Wicked Coatings franchise or contact us today.

Considering you are reading this on the Wicked Coatings website it would be fair to assume that you have an interest in customisation.

That’s a fantastic start! If you have also ever wondered about the logistics of running your own business and the freedom that this could offer, then you fit the EXACT profile of someone who could profit massively from starting their own Wicked Coatings franchise!

We have decided to franchise our popular brand as we literally cannot keep up with the ever escalating demand for our Hydrographics and painting services. As the interest in our customisation offering shows no signs of slowing down – this is the prime time to consider running your own business with the power of a high profile brand behind you.

Our team will be exhibiting at the British and International Franchise Exhibition at Olympia London on the 13th and 14th March.  With over 70 free seminars about franchising and expert advice on how to boost sales and increase profit – this exhibition will not only offer you the chance to talk face to face with the Wicked team, but an invaluable opportunity to sharpen your knowledge about the franchise industry.

Over 500,000 Brits are now employed in franchising across the UK.  These people are achieving great things and reaping the rewards of being their own boss. But they were also brave enough to convert the day dream of running their own business into a profitable reality – all by taking charge of their career and arming themselves with knowledge.  Not only about the franchising industry but also the brand that they wanted to connect with.

This is why we would love to speak to every one of who is considering taking the next step towards running their own franchise.

We can talk you through the process and answer any questions that you may have.

There was a time when the Directors of Wicked Coatings sat down to consider whether they were ready to take on their own business and the responsibilities that this would entail. They had the conversation – they decided to make a go of it – and Wicked Coatings was formed in 2011. Fast forward 4 years and in early 2015 Wicked Coatings has been shortlisted as one of the most successful businesses in Britain.

If you fancy achieving something great then now is the time to get in touch before this incredible opportunity passes you by.  Call us today on 01202 622258 if you would like to know more about what is involved in running your own Wicked Coatings franchise or pencil the 13th or 14th of March into your diary and visit us at the British Franchise Exhibition.

We would love to see you there.

Drawing bike fanatics from London, the South East and across the UK – the London Bike Show is a smorgasboard of bike related action ranging from stunning exhibits to hair raising stunts.

Held at London’s ExCel centre in February, this four day show offered a huge choice of entertainment in the form of celebrity speakers, professional assessment areas and the opportunity to take part in a Q&A session with the former World Champion downhill mountain biker Gee Atherton. All in all a highly exciting event that had been expectantly circled in the Wicked Coatings HQ calendar for many months!

Bournemouth kawasaki BSB bike customised by Wicked Coatings in Poole - hydrographics expert

So yes – you guessed it, never ones to miss out on a good show or the chance to share our customisation prowess – the Wicked team took to the M3 and headed for the ExCel with a number of sensational machines in tow. As expected, the show was jam packed with bike enthusiasts and we had plenty to contribute in the way of 5 incredible machines including 3 Bournemouth Kawasaki BSB race bikes that we had customised in the new colour scheme for 2015.

Our next bike was selected to be on the custom bike stand! A BMW 100 painted in high gloss metallic black and metallic silver pinstripes and number board- another exciting project in collaboration with the dynamos at Side Rock Motorcycles.

Certainly not one to be outdone by a Kawasaki or a BMW our very own Managing Director Chris Hinks had travelled expectantly to the Excel with a view to unleash his own beast of a bike on the expectant crowd!
Chris’ striking Suzuki GSXR 1100 1986 is certainly no stranger to fame as it has previously taken to the custom bike stand at the MCN show.  Having been converted into a street fighter and treated to a full nut and bolt rebuild – this bike has lots of extra trick bits.
Great shot of our MD's bike - customised with expert water transfer printing As for the hydrographics – the vibrant paint is a mixture of water transfer with the green on the tank, seat unit, number board, front mudguard, engine casings and EBC brake rotors customised  in Kyrptek Raid camo and organic green Kandy.  The wheels frame and swing arm have been customised with a mud crack effect and purple Kandy.
It was great to see so many of our customers at the show and it really is nice to get the time to chat face to face and hear about what you guys are getting up to this season. Don’t forget that we are now offering the incredible opportunity to take up a franchise of the Wicked Coatings brand. If you are thinking of changing direction in your career and enjoy a challenge then get in touch now!
Excitingly we have just been shortlisted as one of the most successful businesses in the UK with a SCOOT headline award! Having the power of the Wicked Coatings brand behind you will give your franchise a flying start and could undoubtedly lead to great things.
A dream is only a dream until that you take that first step into the unknown – so come and visit our stand at the British and International Franchise exhibition in March and talk things over with us if you think a Wicked Coatings franchise could be for you. Move quickly though to ensure that your territory isn’t snapped up!

Hi guys,

What an amazing quality of workmanship. I couldn’t ask for any better. The finish on the gun is superb and the quality is far better then I could of imagined.

Many thanks,

Adam Smith

The team at Wicked HQ has made a flying start to 2015 with a nomination for being one of the most successful businesses in Britain.

The Scoot Headline Business awards are the culmination of a National campaign dedicated to identifying dynamic companies that have achieved success across the country.

In April, the Wicked custom coatings team will be heading to the Big Smoke for a glitzy award ceremony where we will discover whether our nomination is for first, second or third place in this prestigious campaign.

This is an incredibly exciting achievement and something that the whole team has deserved following a spate of late nights and early mornings over the past year. We have never lost sight of why we are in business or the huge importance that we place on the satisfaction of our customers.

We have worked on a mind blowing number of projects and met some really nice people along the way. The fact that we have been nominated for this award is pretty awesome and we will keep you posted on whether we bring home gold, silver or bronze!

Either way, its an honour just to be recognised by such a widely recognised National campaign.  We couldn’t be more pleased. A hearty congratulations to our awesome team and as always – many thanks for the continued support and positive feedback from our customers.

Now pass the spray gun – there’s work to be done!

When a beautiful film star demands a customised wheel hub, there is surely no better number to call than the hotline leading directly to Wicked Coatings…  As no stranger to a high end request for something unique we were certainly game for the challenge!

Ewa Pieniakowska is a Polish television and stunt double celebrity with particular fame for being the first ever female to take part in a European motorcycle stunt competition. She is also exceptionally beautiful and not adverse to some rough and tumble with a motorcycle given her history as a stunt double in film. Altogether a pretty enticing prospect for a hydrographics specialist..

We were delighted to work in partnership with the world-leading brake specialist,  EBC brakes, to provide an incredible colour option for their already cult-status stainless steel “EBC Vee-Rotors” that had caught Ewa’s eye.

EBC “Vee-Rotors” are fully floating designed light weight profile disc rotors that feature a patented SD System hardware. Although these little beauties come in black as standard, the kind folk at EBC offered to inject something a little different for Ewa Pieniakowska to ensure that her wheel hubs were nothing short of spectacular! In order to fulfill on such a promise, Hydro dipping expert Wicked Coatings were drafted in to bring their hydrographics expertise to the table…

THE RESULT? Some pretty sexy custom made pink “Vee Rotors” that have been embraced by the stunning Ewa as “sweet” and something to be displayed with pride at the February London Bike Show! With a little precision and a handy allen key, these heat treated and tempered “Vee Rotors” can be easily installed in the sanctity of your own garage – providing a vibrant face lift for your bike in a matter of minutes.

And the great news is there is no need for a CELEBRITY BUDGET! These EBC “Vee Rotors” can be customised by Wicked Coatings at an affordable price, providing a long term vibrancy of colour and leaving bike enthusiasts with no excuse to look anything other than dazzling on the road this Summer!

Interested in something a little wild? Perhaps it’s time to break from the norm and give the experts of cool a call on 01202 622258. Life is too short to blend in with the crowd – contact us today to make a break from the ordinary and establish your own persona on the road.

THE BIKE: R80 RT of ‘82 vintage
OUR PART OF THE PROCESS: Wet Spray Painting
THE GOAL: Transformation into a Street Scrambler fit for Steve McQueen!

This month we were honoured to be part of a massive 200 hour project undertaken by Pete Hodson and the talented team at Side Rock Cycles. For those of you who don’t know, this outfit is an absolute phenomenon in the field of bike customisation.  With 16 projects now completed and two bikes shown at the BSCM show last  year, these guys seriously know their stuff.

For this particular project, the owner of the R80 RT was very clear about the vision he had for the bike. Quite simply, he wanted a Street Scrambler fit for Steve McQueen himself – very chunky and solid with a metallic looking finish that would be nothing short of perfection.

Phase one of the project involved the R80 RT being completely stripped down.  Following blasting, the frame, swinging arm and wheels were then powder coated in satin black. The forks were treated to new springs, new seals and a slightly heavier oil. At the rear, new Hagon shocks were added.

In line with the brief from the customer, chunky profile trail tyres were then fitted to provide outstanding off-road grip and a pleasant on-road experience!

The project then moved on to phase two as the Side Rock Cycles guys expertly worked their way through the following tasks:

Taking the engine apart for a full inspection
Treating it to new rings, timing chain kit & crank seals
Fitting K&N style filters for the re-built carbs
Replacing the standard airbox & top engine cover with a one piece cover
Containing the smaller Gel battery in a bespoke alloy box to conceal wiring
Adding a spot lamp to the crash bars for those guilty night time trails…
Toning down the new chrome headlamp, Acewell speedo/tacho & shortened alloy mudguards
Fitting a new pair of chromed “Mettisse” style handlebars to nail that “off road” character
Creating a bespoke and high level stainless steel exhaust
Aqua blasting the new exhaust for a matt finish and fitting a black reverse cone muffler

It was now time for Wicked Coatings to step in with our custom painting expertise.

The initial concept for the paint was to strip the tank to bare metal, without the use of abrasives so we could then create a distressed bare metal look. A racking roundel and Number 5 was to be painted on and lacquered with a special direct to metal paint system.

However, once all of the old paint had been painstakingly removed this highlighted some fundamental issues with the initial concept – namely some small dents and abrasions in the tank that couldn’t be removed, despite our best efforts.

In the true spirit of Wicked Coatings, we were not to be beaten by this unforeseen setback and took some time to craft an alternative approach..

With a little persistence and some creative genius we managed to come up with a process that enabled us to closely replicate the finish required on this project from it’s outset.  What’s more, the final result actually tied in much closer with some of the motorcycles other details which was the cherry on top of this project! Side Rock Cycles were incredibly chuffed with what we managed to achieve and the project moved forward towards its final stage.

To compliment the grips, an incredible three quarter length seat with the SRC logo embroidered across the back in gold was attached to the modified rear sub frame. 200 hours of painstaking work were finally completed and the R80 RT had been transformed into a rock star worthy beast! A street scrambler of the finest pedigree, to be known from now on as “Heavy Metal!”

It’s always great to work in collaboration with an expert in their field. We would urge anyone with an interest in bike customisation to like the Side Rock Cycles Facebook page and keep up to date with the great stuff that they are doing.

Another thrilling F1 season has come to an end and with an extremely satisfying result for lovers of British motorsport! There may be a certain level of controversy surrounding Lewis Hamilton ( the diamond earrings are inexcusable) but this guy has now accomplished what he set out to do – not just once but TWICE. And let’s face it – no one can take that away from him.

Followers of F1 will know that a successful racing driver has to have guts, stamina and a certain amount of arrogance. At Wicked HQ, we have been following Lewis’ career from the start and it would appear that he doesn’t fall short in any one of these categories. It’s hard not to admire him for that. Everyone loves a winner.

But what about the car? The Mercedes F1 W05 Hybrid is a thing of beauty. A sleek bullet of carbon fibre composite fired up by a 1.6 litre V6 turbo charged engine. This car has achieved 16 victories in a single F1 season – that’s pretty impressive and a statistic that makes the machine the most dominant car in F1 history. This is what happens when the rule book is adjusted to encourage rather than restrict new technology. Long may this continue in our opinion. So let’s take a look at some specifications for the F1 W05 Hybrid:

  • Moulded carbon fibre structure
  • Carbon fibre composite bodywork
  • Eight speed gearbox with carbon fibre maincase
  • Carbon fibre wishbone front and rear suspension

That’s a whole lot of carbon fibre in the space of 4.6 metres – making the car not only lightning fast, but exceptionally good looking too. With F1 success comes a mighty and limitless budget – but without a Saturday night jackpot win – that puts the majority of us out of the running for a genuine carbon fibre finish. Not to mention some quality time with the lead singer of the Pussy Cat dolls… As specialists in hydro dipping – with a specific expertise in carbon dipping – we are always keen to point out majestic examples of the real thing to our customers – but with a view to demonstrate how quickly and economically a carbon fibre effect can be produced by our team of dipping professionals.

So what is a man on a budget to do… Well – we are delighted to reveal that a carbon fibre effect interior or exterior is not purely in the realms of the super rich and famous! The process of hydro dipping – also known as hydrographics or water transfer printing – is a fantastic and affordable way to transform the appearance of a huge number of components – from dashboards and wheel rims to wing mirrors and engine bays.

If you haven’t tried it then see what our customers have to say about the results they have enjoyed from our carbon dipping services.  It’s not often that an affordable technique can actually blow you away with an expensive looking and consistently credible end result. But in this case – the testimonials of our past clients are proof enough that an incredible carbon fibre finish can be yours for a mere fraction of the price of the genuine composite.

As frequent guests on the now legendary Wheeler Dealers series, our professional carbon dipping techniques have been recognised in the highest circles of customisation. If you are interested in knowing more about carbon dipping or have a specific project in mind then get in touch or call us today on 01202 622258.

Lyle,

I just wanted to say a few words of thanks to both you and Angela.
The parts for my golf trolley arrived yesterday, exactly as promised, and I can only say that I am massively impressed.  They have turned out much better than I would have thought possible and the standard of workmanship  is impeccable – brilliant!  My dealings with you and the team have been superb and I am now looking through the house to see what else I can have wrapped!
Anyway, I shan’t go on except to thank you once again!
Yours gratefully,
James

THE PRODUCT: Electric golf trolley
THE PROCESS: Water Transfer Printing
THE TIME: 3 weeks
THE PRICE: Approx £195

According to Chi Chi Rodriguez, “Golf is the most fun you can have without taking your clothes off” and who are we to disagree!

Wise men say that there is a strong connection between how good you look and how well you play on the golf course… With that in mind, we would be interested to hear how well the owner of this month’s stand out project has been faring on the green recently following a serious golf trolley makeover: WICKED STYLE!

Our customer came to us with several things in mind. He needed a coating solution for his electric golf trolley that could withstand the cold and wet environment of the outdoors but most importantly – a unique transformation that would give him that undeniably fashionable edge on the course!

His vision was clear and backed up by a photo to demonstrate the look he was after – a bespoke and edgy union of skull and carbon fibre! We were ready to go but with a few suggestions of our own..

With 6 panels to customise, including the main body of the trolley, its arms and part of the handle – we set to work with the water transfer printing and waited in anticipation to see the final result!

Here are a examples of the feedback that has been recieved:

“It now stands out as something seriously different.”
“My son’s friends call it sick!”
“Absolutely spot on.”

Our customer was not only ecstatic with the finished result but also the additional design advice that we offered to surpass his original vision. We were delighted to receive an extremely kind email following the receipt of his customised parts which included the following quote:

“A couple of highlights with the service provided include: very accurate initial quote (timings and cost), design advice (you may recall you improved on my original thoughts), overall quality of the job and the price which was very reasonable.”

And the jobs a good’un!

THE CAR: AC Cobra
THE PROCESS:  Complete paint job
THE TIME: 3 Weeks
THE PRICE: Approx £7,000

The AC Cobra is an iconic piece of motoring history having been specifically designed with two things in mind: To house a V8 and ultimately, to be heralded as a “corvette-beater.” This mission was spectacularly achieved in  1963 when the gutsy cobra recorded its first ever victory having stormed past a field of Jaguars, Porsches and Maseratis!

We love a car with a plucky history so when our custom painting services were required for an epic AC Cobra build from scratch we were honoured to assist. This massive job took us three weeks to complete and required extensive and thorough preparation so that components were perfectly primed and ready for painting. The brand new fibre glass shell that we were working with was then painted in a dark metallic grey with a Candy Apple Red lacquer to add vibrancy and shine. Having spent invested both time, money and a whole lot of passion into this project, our customer was absolutely delighted with the final results and raring to get behind the wheel!
