Matching coatings to existing parts

Wanting to hydro dip interior parts for his Smart Brabus forfour, David first tried a local company who let him down before turning to Wicked Coatings for help.

“The OEM finish on door grab handles was badly chipped in places and I knew hydro dipping would ‘refresh’ them. I opted to have some of the other similarly coloured interior parts dipped to match. As the car is quite ‘sporty’ I felt a carbon look would suit the car well,” explained David.

He had previously used Wicked Coatings to hydro dip some engine parts (value covers) and strut brace in a Nissan 350Z, but this time David decided to try a local company.

“For this most recent hydro dipping work I initially used a local company, believing a) they might be quicker for turnaround (they weren’t) and b) they could dip to match an existing finish in the car; they said yes but, when I viewed the parts after dipping, the finish was not even close to matching the finish I wanted. They only then said they could not guarantee to match anything existing – something they promised they could at the outset. I then realised my mistake and reverted to Wicked Coatings!

“Their service was first class. From initial enquiry to receiving the finished items, communication and information was timely and accurate.

“The finish is superb. Cannot be faulted. I would recommend Wicked Coatings without hesitation. I have since used their name on two of the forums I use (for different cars) as highly recommended. I won’t ever make the mistake of going elsewhere again!” added David.

Wicked Coatings helped with a few embellishments for this Ferrari F430. Hydro dipped in carbon fibre – wheels, centre caps and interior and red infills on the lettering…another very happy customer!

With a budding reputation in the aircraft renovation sector, Wicked Coatings won a new contract to undertake refurbishment of a Bombardier Challenger 650.

“The original wood work had degraded, it was cracked, discoloured and de-laminating,” explained Chris Hinks, Wicked Coatings. “We stripped back all the panels to substrate and repaired the damage.

“TV cut outs and communications points were infilled, smoothed and all painted a sleek high gloss piano black. Tables had trim cut out, infilled, smoothed and silver pinstripe detail applied.”

Wicked Coatings managed the paint process, as well as onboard polishing and snagging to ensure a Wicked-standard quality finish.

The project included paint work for all wood work; bulkheads, upper dado rails, lower dado rails, tables, refreshment units, closet, lavatory and other storage areas.

Wicked Coatings offers an extensive aircraft refurbishment package for commercial, corporate and private jets, and helicopters.

A top weekend for the Quattro Plant Wicked Coatings Kawasaki team at Saturday’s International North West 200 road races. Glenn Irwin and James Hillier rode in a first and second performance. Hillier went on to take his maiden NW200 race after leading the Superstock race from start to finish.

Pete Extance, Team Owner, said: “It’s been an amazing day for the Quattro Plant Wicked Coatings Kawasaki team and for Kawasaki UK with their first Superbike win at the North West 200 since 1977. Both riders rode a superb race in very tricky conditions and they did an amazing job to bring the bikes home in first and second. In the Superstock race, James set about his task with an excellent start and, full of confidence after making the right tyre choice, he led from start to finish.

“To open up a 20s lead at the NW200 is unheard of given the quality of field and he took a well deserved victory. I’m so pleased for both riders and they’ve worked well as teammates all year. It’s a terrific boost for James ahead of the TT and also for Glenn going into the next British Superbike round where he’ll be looking to climb back up the leaderboard.”

Good luck to Hillier at the Isle of Man TT races! And we’ll be watching Irwin in the next round of Bennetts British Superbike Championship at Donington Park next weekend.

“Just want to massive thank you to you and your talented team at Wicked Coating. From beginning to end, all aspects from the consultation, service and updates, through the process to the standard of finish of the completed work. I could not be happier.”

I myself am looking forward to ‘show season’ more than ever and reaction that my daily driver will get. You made a rare car (1 of 125 left taxed and MOT according to DVLA data) even more unique of which I’m truly grateful for.” ‘Alfa’ Chris

John came to us after being turned down by other companies stating that the job was too difficult and too small. We love a challenge here at Wicked Coatings! It was been a total pleasure working with John and we are delighted that he is happy with the finished product.

“A million thank yous for the unbelievable quality of the work that you did on my wheelchair parts. The attention to detail was amazing and the quality of workmanship was outstanding. Your quality control and packaging department totally blew my mind with the amount of care taken to protect my parts during the dispatch process. I do not know what else to say to all staff at Wicked Coatings – a million thank yous.”  John
